A China emerging software games development organization which were in process of rapid business development faced unprecedented challenges in competition with time, continuous rapid growth and innovation within the market. This company tripled his team within six months due to rapid growth. While having good talents on board, they are facing lots of challenges at the same time showing different cultural diversity, different values and perspective at work. Instead of further growing, they see declining in performances.
After the evaluation assessments and interview conversation with the CEO, we
proposed a series of improvement program to first help bringing up the mid-high management team’s leadership, to acquire the innovation and change techniques and improve the communication among all levels to promote better collaboration and execution abilities, started with a two days’ workshop.
The CEO, COO and CFO are also joining he mid-high management workshop to learn. During one of the session whereby they were requested to show their current performances (from individual and group perspective) effectiveness, with initial believe that they are in a good position as they have been growing double digit for the past three years, the assessment analysis turned out to be at the opposite and it’s out of the surprise to all inclusive the CEO, whereby most of their efforts spending on “basic” and “linear” results with very least efforts in astonishing the customers.
The team has achieved the unprecedented trust collaboration and support during the workshops especially in completing some challenging tasks and activities together. The leadership team has also taken the opportunity to identify the strengths and weakness of their team, breakthrough their innovative limits on products development and how they approach to the market and customers.
Their marketing and sales director during after the session, spoken with us and mentioned that he had never realized the importance of “customer focus” driving approach this much although he knew it as it’s the priority in the “marketing”, this program has truly helped him to enlighten from different perspective. After the first two days’ workshop, they found much beneficial and extended the whole program of eight days’ workshop with six months interval mentorship. Within the mentorship period, the CEO and team seen progressive improvement in their collaboration and execution effectiveness, witness positive transformation among team, and also found an effective ways to promote the corporate culture, create a fun learning working environment, and they achieved their intended goals and results within the mentorship period.
To ensure the organization development viability continues, the CEO requested us to work with him and select 20 high potential and experienced managers or successors to duplicate the efforts and transfer further on-the-job knowledge, skills and build up a winning team, not just stop at the management level. These 20 high potential employee were attended the "create a learning organization and building team's competitive advantages" program with series of assignments and practical test, and given the essential tools and methodologies to train and coach their team going forward.
